Going to a vineyard for a visit and wine tasting by helicopter? Really?
Oh yes, you can!!
Thanks to a great collaboration with Rotarfug and Vinyes Mortitx, this amazing event is available for all of you.
September 5th 2014 a group of 11 wonderful people came flying in with 3 helicopters for a visit and wine tasting at Mortitx.
Flight:
Our guests were welcomed by Rotarflug at Aeródromo de Son Bonet – Palma where they took off in 3 helicopters. During a 20 minutes flight over the Serra de Tramuntana, they enjoyed the stunning views on their way to Vinyes Mortitx where they landed.
Visit Mortitx:
Explaining the origin of the Bodega, its unique location and weather conditions, we walked through the vineyard. It was harvesting time so people could pick the grapes themselves, taste them and see how grapes were pressed and ‘most’ was stored in tanks.
The full process of wine making was explained and as September is a busy period at Mortitx, parts of the process (e.g. harvesting, pressing, filling the tanks, filling new french oak barrels,…) took place as we spoke, which made the visit even more interesting.
After an interesting tour around the vineyard, people were ready to taste the high quality wines of Vinyes Mortix combined with typical Mallorquin delicacies; Grimalt cheese, quelitas, olives, pa amb oli,…
