Truffels op Mallorca!

Steeds vaker zie je truffel op de menu kaart staan in Mallorca. Maar… komen truffels niet vooral voor in Frankrijk en Italië?

Nee dus; ook in Mallorca vinden we truffels. Vader en zoon Rosselló uit Inca zijn de enigen op het eiland die het “zwarte goud van Mallorca” leveren.

De truffel heeft een speciale bodem, een precies klimaat en een geschikte boom nodig om goed tot zijn recht te komen en daar zijn de Rosselló’s in geslaagd.

Ze vertelden vol passie over hun honden die zo belangrijk zijn bij het zoeken van de truffels. Na 7maanden in huis te leven bij de familie en de geur van truffels te leren kennen, konden ze eindelijk mee de natuur in om getraind te worden in het zoeken naar het zwarte goud.

De truffels worden hoofdzakelijk verkocht aan lokale restaurants.

Truffles in Mallorca!

Nowadays more and more truffles are to be found on the menu in Mallorca. But … don’t truffles mainly appear in France and Italy?

Nope… Also in Majorca we find truffles. Father and son Rosselló from Inca are the only ones on the island that provide the “black gold of Mallorca”.

The truffle needs a special soil, a precise climate and a suitable tree and the Rosselló’s succeeded.

Next to these special conditions, they tell us about the importance of their dogs in the search for truffles. After 7months of living at home with the family and getting to know the smell of truffles, the dogs could finally run open air and be trained to look for the black gold.

The truffles are mainly sold to local restaurants.
